Design and development

Canary Dwarf is an established provider of web design and development services. We work to a series of guidelines known as W3C  specifications, and these are laid down to establish ground rules on coding, usability and accessibility.

Adhering to these standards also means our sites perform well in search engine rankings.

Although design is often thought of visually, there is a non-visual side to our work as designers. We  may design databases or user experiences, but it is our ability to understand concepts at all stages of the development process that makes us good web designers, not just the ability to produce a good visual product.

And then we have development, the art of making it all work technically. We won’t bore you with all the jargon we use here in the back room, but suffice to say that we are competent in the appropriate technologies to make your website function.

To ensure your website functions correctly in most modern browsers, we currently test by default in the following:

• Safari 3/4

On the following platforms:

• Mac OS X 10.2.8/10.5.3
• Linux Xandros

Where mobile device support is required, we test on:

• Apple iPhone
• Apple iPod Touch
• Google Android
• Symbian S60
• Apple iPad

Where further testing is required, we can arrange this.
