Email marketing

Despite the hype that social media has generated over the last decade, email still stands head and shoulders above it for ROI (return on investment).

“…email remained the most important channels for marketers, with 91% rating it as important. Most (56%) say that GDPR, introduced last in May 2018, has had a positive impact on their email campaigns. Most also reported higher email open rates (74%) and click through rates (75%) over the last year, while some saw a fall in opt-out rates (41%).”

Direct Marketing Association, 2019 report

Email marketing is still one of the most lucrative ways to put your name in front of buyers. It’s also one of the easiest, and one of the cheapest. We’re talking here about signing up people up to a mailing list and using a piece of software to manage subscribers, campaigns, and autoresponders..

When somebody signs up to your email list, they are sending a strong signal that they are interested in what you have to sell, and that’s only increased after GDPR has ‘cleansed’ many bad practices. It’s a signal you shouldn’t ignore, and you should keep sending emails until your subscriber becomes a customer.

That doesn’t mean you have to be spammy or overbearing. Email marketing is a great way to keep your customers informed and entertained, it can provide a secondary role in content marketing, by providing useful advice that keeps your name prominently connected to your products and services. It’s only a matter of time before they will buy.

MailChimp – the email marketing champ

MailChimp is probably the most widely-known software for this purpose, and especially for small businesses. because it is free to use for small lists (up to 2000 subscribers) and it’s very easy to learn. It’s just one of the ones we use, but definitely the one that most of our customers use.

We can provide you with campaign support, a done-for-you service or training so you can manage everything yourself knowledgeably, or you can transition from one to the other.

One size doesn’t all in email marketing, and in our experience, it’s easy enough for business owners to put together a newsletter, but a differnt story when it comes to putting together a full-blown marketing funnel with lead generating landing pages and autoresponders.

We have an excellent record of producing above-average results with email marketing. When tested against benchmarks, our results often come in performing 200-300% higher than average.
